Once again with retrograde season, I’m personally craving quiet time + detachment; I need space to tune into my thoughts, emotions, desires — to sort + organize them. I’m also working to let go of gripping thoughts reeling through my mind. They haven’t been thoroughly healed if they’re still haunting, so I’m giving it another go. I know things take time. The process isn’t always pleasant, but by directly confronting the shadow/source of pain is where we get raw and real with ourselves — with conscious awareness we can call it out + put a stop to unhelpful beliefs/judgements/expectations etc. By facing triggers in a head-on type of way, and understanding what grinds our gears and why — allows us to get right down to the root of the issue. Then with compassion, forgiveness + the commitment to act from a more loving place (regardless of the situation), transformation occurs within us. And it’s a beautiful thing to be placed in the exact same situation with a trigger, yet act differently than before — from a higher level of being, refined emotional intelligence + awareness. To me, that is spiritual evolution. 💫 But transformation cannot occur if you’re not willing to take the plunge into your deepest depths...to look honestly at your beliefs or behaviours + discern what needs editing, upgrading or deleting. Change begins with practicing self-awareness. Some say they’re too busy to meditate. Others say the quiet makes their skin crawl; being too uncomfortable to be in the presence of their own thoughts or repressed feelings. And to those folks I kindly say, this is where meditation or self-reflection is needed the most. 💫 Practice getting quiet. Focus on the breath. A few minutes a day is all you need to begin cracking your outer, hardened shell. With intention, gently begin peeking in + sift through your subtle inner world. Practice witnessing your emotions — where you’ve experienced hurt, betrayal, ignorance, loss. Can you let it go? Can you forgive? Honour emotions housed at your core, don’t just glaze over them. How do you wish to feel? Try coming up with responses to these people/circumstances/triggers etc. that support the highest good of everyone involved.👇🏼
